Can big organisations really achieve net zero emissions? Well, BBC Look East are giving it their best shot and Volt e-bikes are helping businesses and individuals edge closer to a decarbonised world.
On Tuesday night (7th July, 18:35) viewers in the East of England were treated to a special report featuring Volt Managing Director as reporter Nicola Haseler took to the roads on the Burlington and Kensington model.
In the build-up to the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP26 – https://ukcop26.org/) that runs later this year in the UK, Look East is running a series of reports on achieving greener ways to live. This week the broadcasters tried to deliver a net-zero day of broadcasts. Although they fell just short, they did manage to cut their emissions by two thirds. Citing travel as one of the biggest ways to cut carbon emissions, the report goes on to look at how more and more people are turning to pedal power. Nicola Haseler also quotes the “300% increase in demand” for Volt e-bikes in the UK over the last 12 months.
