Flying Doctors (and their Burlington E-bikes)

Devon’s Doctors Lead by Example, flying around their community on two wheels…

Neighbours may have had Kylie and Jason but telly addicts of the eighties knew that the real drama was over at Cooper’s Crossing with the Royal Flying Doctors! Unlike those high-octane, fuel-guzzling medics, however, the Doctors and staff at Honiton Surgery, Devon are flying around on electric bikes!

Earlier this year Volt loaned the Honiton Surgery several Volt Burlington ebikes for Doctors and staff to use. As part of an initiative from the Royal College of General Practitioners to boost activity, the cycles are being used for the daily needs of the surgery within the community. 

From staff commutes to house calls by GPs, our e-bikes have played a key role in promoting and increasing activity levels around the surgery. But rather than let us tell you about it, why not have a listen to Dr Daniel Murphy as he shares the surgery’s experience on BBC Radio Devon…
