Budweiser and Volt Competition

100% Renewable Fuelled Budweiser & their E-bike Giveaway

Budweiser’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact is reminiscent of their poster boy Lionel Messi’s commitment to the “beautiful game”. While the global football star was crowned Ballon d’Or footballer of the year for the seventh time, the King of Beer, Budweiser is celebrating saving 16,242 tonnes of emissions a year. AND giving away 10 Volt E-bikes!

At Volt we’re really inspired by how Budweiser is using 100% renewable energy to brew their kegs, bottles, and cans not just in the UK but globally. This includes not only their Bud brand but Stella Artois and Corona as well.

In addition, UK Budweiser beer is made from barley grown on British farms. While their packaging is now without those nasty plastic rings that are so damaging to nature and wildlife. Here’s a snapshot of how their environmentally aware brewing commitments look today…

  • 100% renewable energy
  • 100% ingredients with natural origins
  • 100% UK sourced barley
  • 100% without plastic rings

Budweiser’s commitment to sustainability goes further than just brewing beer though. They want to help encourage everyone to do their part. One particular area they see could help is travel. Reducing carbon emissions by switching the car for an e-bike is a way everyone could have a positive impact.

If we replaced just 20% of car miles with e-bike travel that would mean 4-8 million fewer tonnes of carbon emitted each year.*
